Haryana Government hike Dearness Allowance

State Government of Haryana raises Dearness Allowance to his employees,
existing rate from 27 pc to 35 pc


Haryana Finance Minister Ajay Singh Yadav today announced to enhance the rate
of Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to the state government employees from
existing 27 per cent to 35 per cent with effect from January 1, 2010.


Capt Yadav maintained that eight per cent increase had been made in the
Dearness Allowances of Haryana government employees on the pattern of Central
government. He said by giving the Dearness Allowances (DA) from January 1, the
government had to bear Rs 37.20 crore monthly on its exchequer.


The Finance Minister said the Haryana government had decided to provide D A
installments in cash from January 1 on the pattern of Central government. He
said the grant of D A would put liability of Rs 520.80 crore on state exchequer
during 14 months, while the liabilities from January 1, 2010 to February 2011
would be of Rs 446.40 crore during the current financial year.
